While things that happen between consenting adults in Las Vegas are par for the course, a recent news story has raised serious questions about other venues where the Las Vegas motto may apply. It seems that it’s a free-for-all on public school buses and vans, just like in Las Vegas, except that these are our children and the acts can be far from consensual. In Ohio, a seven-year-old girl was repeatedly molested, raped and sodomized over a period of at least a year and a half. This is an accepted fact by the court because the emotionally disturbed 16-year-old boy who sexually assaulted the little girl on a special education school van gave a full confession to the police. His confession correlates with what the child reported to her mother, and what her mother reported to the school and the police. He also did not attempt to defend himself in a civil lawsuit brought against him by the victim’s mother. However, prosecuting the rapist in this case doesn’t go very far in protecting this child and others from sexual predators on school buses. In this case, the school district and the driver of the van do not admit that the sexual attacks even happened. From the driver’s seat of the special education van, the driver cannot see what goes on at the back benches of the 7-passenger van. Since he did not see the attacks, he says that they never happened and that the sexual attacks that the 7-year-old described, and that the 16-year-old confessed to, are the product of the little girl’s imagination. The school district takes the same stance on the issue and stands firm on their position that the child was not raped on the school’s special education van although the 16-year-old has a lengthy rap sheet and school disciplinary record. To add insult to injury, the mother’s attempt to sue the school district on behalf of her child has failed. A rational person might think and believe that when a child is on a school bus or van, that the school has a duty to protect that child. With this case, we find that is not the case and that the school, by virtue of being a government entity, is immune from liability. Rather than being held to a higher standard, government agencies are instead protected by sovereign immunity. Initially, a judge in Stark County, Ohio ruled that a jury should hear the case to decide if the school district was negligent. The district, of course, appealed that decision. The Ohio Court of Appeals recently ruled that the child who was raped has no right to sue the school district. Several courts in Ohio have previously ruled that the operation of school vehicles does not involve protecting the children from harm, including sexual assaults. Now the child and her mother are waiting to see if the Ohio Supreme Court will hear the case. Although the school district denies that the sexual assaults ever happened, that is not the issue at stake. The real issue is whether or not the school district has a responsibility to ensure the safety of students who rely on transportation provided by the schools. Ohio courts have repeatedly protected the schools by ruling that they do not have a duty to protect students while they are being transported on school buses and vans. So, unless the Ohio Supreme Court decides otherwise, what happens on school vehicles is of no concern to the school districts. After all, why should they be concerned when the courts say that they aren’t liable? Fox News has the only report of this story that we have found. for us that live outside of vegas...we see all types of commercials to get us there...maybe they don't run in vegas...but the thing is what happens in vegas stays in vegas...and I can see where the writer was going...and really it does fit...because the commercials are always about men and women cheating and doing things that they would normally do...and it stays there..
In Ohio, it is simply a case of what happens on the school bus, it stays on the school bus...as you can rest assure that the school district doesn't want to this to get out...so they would lose potential tax dollars because people look for housing around school districts are supposely doing great things and Jackson Township school district are hiding behind the law that was created to protect them... you can't sue Jackson Township School District in Ohio, but you could sue the city that it is in. Sometimes when they know they can get hit big time in the pocket it would make them up the security. and on a side note the bus driver got promoted after this...now he drives the big regular school buses. written by Jens Lidbom, March 28, 2008
Disgusts me how people wants to blame the school for what happens on
their busses. If someone hijacks a schoolbus and shoots everyone on it, do you blame the school then too? The school gets money so they can give the children an education. If you want them to be constantly guarded as well, then cough up some huge amount of coin so they can hire an army of security guards. If on the other hand the bus had failing breaks due to bad maintainance and children got hurt because of that, then the school would be responsible. I do wonder how someone can get raped for a whole year without anyone noticing it on a bus though. written by Ryan, March 28, 2008
@ Jens
I pray this doesn't happen to your child and anyone else who thinks this isn't important... somebody that hijacks a bus is a freak thing happening..but a little girl getting raped on a bus, I mean school 7 pass van for 2 years... we have to trust our schools that they will protect our children while we are there...and secondly, the school wants this to stay quiet...why so that people will not move their children out, or move into the disrict... = less tax dollars... written by Ricky Barnes, March 28, 2008
There are laws that make school attendance compulsory. I am not familiar with the laws pertaining to busing, however, if schooling is compulsory and the buses are the property of the school system which compels attendance, one cannot help but conclude the school system is responsible for the safety of the children they compel to attend from the moment the step onto the bus until they are let off back home or near home. It's ridiculous for this school system to weasel out of responsibility. Even if they are not technically responsible, I'd think they'd been gravely concerned that any wrong-doing occurred at all on their property and would step to take responsibility to correct and treat the situation for humane reasons alone. Perhaps, they back away because there is little humanity in their minds and hearts to begin with.

A person that can't keep up with a half dozen or so kids on a bus, can't be trusted with a dog! The fact that these are "special needs" kids should give a reasonable person the vague idea that these kids might, golly, have "special needs"; therefore warranting some actual care. If this person has kids, they also know that sometimes something bad is happening when the kids are TOO quiet. For whatever reason, this person was negligent in their duty as a driver, parent/ parental figure, and/or human being. The school I'm not sure about, but I do know that negligence can be found regardless of any monetary damages. Possibly the school is being protected due to money issues, but responsibility still can be found without taking away funding for all the children's educations. How many of you total f***wits that think otherwise still complain when your magazine gets roughed-up in the mail? Someone's kid though you don't care 'cause you're not out 5 bucks. Guess we know what van some of you are riding to hell in. We don't want to hear you bitching about the trip there.

I say to you that that bus driver was negligent and should be held accountable for the crimes that took place on his bus. There is no way that man transported those kids twice a day, for an entire year and a half, without being made aware that something ungodly was taking place in the back seat of his vehicle. I just don't believe it. I don't believe a person can be anally raped "ten to fifteen times" on a vehicle with other people present without being noticed. School buses are school property, that bus driver was employed by the school system, and that school district should and will be held responsible for failing to protect that girl while ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.

The amount of training and FBI clearances a School Bus Driver has to go through is more than you know. He / she would have had to have seen it and would not ignore it. Bus drivers are trained to watch for odd behavior and drivers of special needs children take extra training. You mean to tell me that the bus driver never saw a thing in a year and a half and this just went on and on and on.. The mother suspected something?? The girl was afraid to tell her mother? The girl just got on the bus every day never throwing a fit never protesting. Never showing any signs of rape when she came home. Mother never noticing fluids in her panties. The mentally disable boy never told anyone and then admitted it all after a year and a half?
Blame the mother for not getting to the bottom of her child mood change for year and a half. I don’t believe this story at all. written by Wix, August 27, 2008
Sexual assault on a school bus, both sides said it happened, and what should be a third party is denying it and everybody gets off without any punishment!? What the hell is happening in today's world!?
While on the school bus the driver or the school itself (since school busses are school property, a ruling that's expelled a friend of mine) is liable for what happens since that is the reason there are cameras (to prevent this and to catch what happens on a school bus such as fights), it hasn't been a single incident as both sides have admitted. To top it all off, they aren't saying 'oh we'll fix the problem' they're saying 'Nope never happened and isn't happening' making it the same as saying 'go ahead boy, keep killing that girl's future, and all you other kids should follow in his footsteps.' Seriously! Since when has rape become something people just ignore? This is just once incident of where something good CAN be done but isn't because of the stubborness of not just one, but many hard headed fools. If I found out somebody I knew was doing that I would probably beat the hell out of them for doing it. Cause not only are they pretty much ignoring the cries for help, but they're pretending she's just delusional when BOTH SIDES HAD THE SAME STORY. written by KimberleyNOBLE31, May 31, 2010
Following my monitoring, millions of persons all over the world get the loans at different creditors. Thus, there is a good possibility to find a secured loan in every country.

Have no enough money to buy some real estate? You should not worry, just because that is possible to get the home loans to solve such problems. Hence take a collateral loan to buy everything you want.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. That’s the motto of the city, but does it also apply to other locations?

Here is what I know about it...
The child never told her mom, another student on the bus told the school, the girl was scared because she was the last drop off and the boy told her he would hurt her family, the mom suspected something but never thought that this could have been happening...what parent would?
The mom adopted this little girl and her siblings at a very early age, the boy admitted it to the courts...plus has a history of a violent past and assaults, but the parents were not made aware of this...
The bus ride to school and home was 45 minutes each way, he never penetrated her, well he put his ---- in her butt and her mouth, he would put his trench coat over them, what I find amusing is that, how come the bus driver couldn't look in his rear view mirror and see or at least hear what was going on.
There is a March on the School Districts step in April...visit my blog below
The Supreme Court ruled there is nothing they can do...no precedence has been set and denied the families request.
The reason the school board and the bus company should be held responsible as we can not be there for our children...we put them on the bus, so then the bus driver should hold responsibility until he gets them to the school and then the school is responsible for keeping them safe until the ride home where now as parents we will ensure our kids safety.
I also admonish any person who comment in a negative way if you have not watched the you tube video at least a couple of times.
The mom is telling me the girl is still having trouble sleeping at night...
IMO until the school district and/or the bus company that the school district hired to transport the kids to school are held responsible... they can continue to hide and will... that is the reason for the lawsuit...plus all the mental health counseling that will be require to help heal the wounds.
